My first 6 month in Australia were really nice, nearly everything is different. From the language to the weather and the people.
Everybody is friendly and everybody will always help you when you are an Exchange Student.
When I arrived at the airport in Perth I felt pretty good, cos I knew, now it's the time where I will learn a lot of different things and this would be my Exchange Year in Australia.
At my first evening in Perth I went with Bevan, my Hostdad, to Dominos Pizza. at this moment I knew, this will be a wonderful family.
MY FIRST DAY AT MT.LAWLEY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
It all started at 7o'clock when I had to get up and dressed for school.
It was a nice day and I felt grea, my first subject was psychologist and I didn't understand any words but I made about 10 friends in my first 10min. The school was pretty easy for me, I just had to get better in english.
After the first month I went to my first AFL Game ever, Dockers vs. Carlton were playing and my friend Paul from germanycame with me. At the end the Dockers lost pretty high.
SEPTEMBER IN PERTH
In september the weather started to get a bit better and at the 3rd of september I had my 17th Birthday. I went with arround 25people to the beach and we had a nice BBQ, it was nice a nice day but rainy.
5 days later, I visited with Benedict, an other german Exchange Student the Cavershame Wildlife Park. really wonderful park with a lot of Kangaroos and a lot of birds and people. We had a nie day and at the end a pick nice in the outback.
OCTOBER IN PERTH
I finally had my first school Holidays and I went with all the other Exchange Students to a farmer weekend in Quindanning.
We did a lot of activities, for example, shooting with an old Winchester and in the evening we went for fox hunting.
I saw, how to shere a sheep and the hole weekend was nice weather, arround 30degrees.
NOVEMBER IN PERTH
I had my first surfing lesson at Trigg beach in November with the otherExchange Students. I can stand up now and surf for maybe 5sec but not longer. I wanted to learn how to surf with a short board and with big waves.
At this time I decided to buy for myself a new camera, it's called GoPro HD Hero 2 and it's a small, compact, waterproofed camera, I can use it for any activities.
DECEMBER IN PERTH
It started to get hot for me and it was nearly christmas time. It was really unusual christmas time with arround 40degrees and all of the christmas lights without snow. When you see 1x christmas time with snow and when It's cold, than you know it's a lot nicer and better.
And finally christmas day was here, I had no feelings, cos I wasn't used to the hot weather and getting christmas gifts in the morning. I got a lot of gifts and I'm really thankfull for all the gifts.
We had a nice day with the family and a lot of really good food.
I went to Sydney for NYE and the firework was just amazing, I will never forget it.
In the same week I went with my Hostfamily to Mundarin, they had their old house up there in the hills. I saw the water who goes to Kalgoorlie and the big dam. After that, we had lunch at a reallly nice restaurant and I could feed the parrods with chips out of my hands.
JANUARY IN PERTH
I January I did a trip along the golden Pipeline with rober, Billy and Paul. It was really interesting how long this pipeline were. We followed the hole pipeline to Kalgoorlie, the pipeline is arround 600km long. We went to 3 museums and the super pit, the super pit is huge and deep, I never saw a so big pit in my life (Minen)
We always stayed in a tent and it was a nice experience for me.
After Kalgoorlie I visited my friend Tobias, he is an Exchange Student from Switzerland as well and I knew him before I came to Australia.
He lifes in Bunbury, we did a lot of activities, he is working in a dolphine center and we went there one day in the morning and we watched the dolphins at 8am.
He showed my arround Bunbury and at 1 day we took the bus at 6 in the morning and this bus drived us to Yellingup the the best surfing spot in hole Western Australia (WA). We surfed with our bodyboards and it was a lot of fun and the swell was arround 4m high.
