Christmas and New Year in Australia

My Christmas was really nice here in Australia but i had no feeling, just nothing.... I missed the snow really.... We had at the 24th about 32 degrees and no clouds. At the 24th we did nothing, all Australians opening their Christmas gifts at the 25th in the morning. It was weird to open gifts at the 25th in the morning with a glass of champaign at 10o'clock, but it was nice without snow. I got a lot of things, I got about 3 pairs or thongs and crocks and a David Beckam parfum and Australian Chocolate. A nice Bodyboarding and Surfing Book, some geel fo my hair and other really nice gifts. I bought for my Hostsister nice candles with a mirror in the back, it looks like a lot of candles in the mirror. For my Hostmum and my Hostdad i bought two different kinds of Swiss Chocolate and a Swiss Mug, it's a Swiss Cup for tea or coffee. After the gifts all other family members were coming to our house and we had a big breakfast all together. We had a lot of ham, seafood and turkey. For desserts we had 3 kinds of cakes and Brownies, it was really good. The hole breakfast took 3houers and it was 30degrees warm. I enjoyed it but I haven't get any feelings.....
THX to my family in Switzerland for the gifts and the letters.
For the rest of the day we stayed at home and relaxed.
In the next 3 days i went to the beach with friends for Surfing and chilling. At the 28th, 21 exchange students from perth were going to Sydney for NYE. We flew 4houers with Qantas to Sydney, we arrived at our Hotel in Sydney, it's called "The Wood Brookers" or something like that. At the 28th in the evening we went for a walk to the ocean and trough China Town. 29th, went to Paddy's Market where a lot of cheap stuff to sell was and 90% from China importet. 30th, everybody went for shopping in Sydney and chilling, it was a beautiful day with a lot of sun and fun. In the evening eveybody went to Luna Park, it's like a small amusement park, the hole night was really nice with the roller coaster till I got a call from my parents, while I was with everybody on the carousel. My parent told me that my Grandmother past away at this morning, a small world has collapsed, I liked my Grandma a lot and I really hoped, while I'm at my Exchange nobody past away. It was really surprising, I just talked with my Grandma at the 25th on Skype and she was well. But I can't change what happend, I have to live with it. It was good that I talked with her before it happend. The time came for her and I hope she have a nice life in heaven, I'm really missing you "Guggeli" R.I.P Grandma =(

At the 31st of December we had to get up at 8:30 in the morning, at 10o'clock we were infront of the Sydney Opera house and we found our spot to wait 14houers till the New Year will start. It was raining in the beginning but at about 12o'clock the sun came truth and it was a nice afternoon with dancing Macarena infront of thousends of peoples. At 9o'clock the firework for children started, it was 12min long and nice with big firecrackers and music. At 11:50 everybody started to get up and everybody was ready to celebrate the New Year. At 12:00am the firework started and it was amazing, the hole Harbour Bridge was enlightened from the Firecrackers. 1,5Mio people was watching the firework and celebrated the New Year 2012. It was just amazing and huge. It was the best firework that I every say in my young life, I'll never forget it.
1st of January, all exchange students went to the famous Bondi Beach in Sydney, it was really full, about 1000people or so. I went with 4 friends for Surfing, the waves was big and fast. I was standing on my board and I'd surfed a waves along. Just sraight but still good.
This was the last day in Sydney at the beach and everybody was happy and full of new life experience at the end of the trip.
